Blomsterfrämjandet School Flower Bulb Competition — Updated Information
Blomsterfrämjandet is once again calling on schools across Sweden to join their exciting flower bulb competition, specifically designed for classes with children aged 7 to 10 years. The initiative is a wonderful opportunity for young students and their teachers to experience the joys of planting together, foster environmental awareness, and bring a touch of nature into the school grounds. This year, teachers or responsible adults can register their class’s interest for a chance to win one of 100 flower bulb packages, to be used in a nationwide planting event.
How to Participate
If you are responsible for a school class with children between 7 and 10 years old, you’re invited to apply for the chance to win a flower bulb package for your class. To take part, send an email with the necessary contact details—including your name, the school’s name, the class, your mobile phone number, delivery address, and email address—to Erica Dahlqvist at Blomsterfrämjandet at erica.dahlqvist@blomsterframjandet.se. Beyond the basic information, you should also provide a short motivation about why your class deserves to win the flower bulbs. Your motivation will play a key role in the selection process.
For full guidelines and details, see the original announcement: www.blomsterframjandet.se.
Important Dates
If your class is selected, you will receive a flower bulb package to plant together on the coordinated Planting Day, which will take place on September 16, 2011, at all participating schools. The winners will be officially announced on August 30, 2011, on Blomsterfrämjandet’s website.
Purpose and Educational Value
The competition is part of Blomsterfrämjandet’s ongoing efforts to increase children’s interest in gardening, bring practical environmental education into schools, and encourage collaboration among students and teachers. By participating, schools contribute to an inspiring, hands-on activity that teaches children about plant life, sustainability, and teamwork.
